Plastic Culture News: Dayak Munny Came Second For The Best HeadDress Munny

This submission for Munny Munth (via Plastic Culture) has won came second for the best headdress. If I am not wrong, the judge of this category is Mr. Paul Budnitz himself. The creator Kong Andri is an Indonesia designer who bought Munny regularly at Plastic Culture. This piece is called Dayak Munny.

Paul says, “Dayak MUNNY is fantastic. That looks like real wood! He has a bird on his head that provides the feathers for the headdress. I wouldn’t want to meet this cannibal alone down the end of a dark alley at midnight because I’m sure he’d kill and eat me. Wonderful craftsmanship and excellent attitude.”

Great job Andri! We can’t wait to see many of your great works in the future!

Plastic Culture News: Munindi Little Indian Came Third For The Best HeadDress Munny

Another great name in the world of custom toys has came through. Silvia Tampi, the winner of Munny Contest (Indonesia) last year has “broke-the-ceiling” with this amazing feather design on Munindi, the Little Indian. From the previous Munny custom that she has done, it is clear that Silvi is one of the most versatile customizer that Plastic Culture has ever encounter. She has emerged into one of the greats in toy-customizing. We have seen Munindi upclose and personal, and we can tell you this it surely looks ten times better than the actually picture.

Paul added, “To me the reason this MUNNY’s headdress is amazing is that it’s placed on the Little Indian’s head at a cocky angle. I would never think to do that. Look again at the photo. If the headdress were put on straight this would just be another Indian – but placed at an angle, the beautifully carved featherdress turns Munindi into a PISSED OFF Little Indian. Pissed off and kind of jaunty, like all those kids with New Era hat’s you see going home to Brooklyn on the C train. I love it. Great work!”
