Plastic Culture News: Things Aren’t Getting Any Prettier in This Neighborhood Solo Exhibition

Plastic Culture presents its first solo exhibition featuring our very own Resident Artist – Thunderpanda (Eric Wirjanata). Things Aren’t Getting Any Prettier in This Neighborhood is what this exhibition is called. The idea of this exhibition came when he was customizing uglydoll and things does get uglier (the uglydoll), then he looked the his surrounding city, where the country and the government are not improving. In fact, things are getting uglier little by little and no one cant even realize it.

Eric will exhibit 14 (fourteen) HUGE canvas-print along with showcasing his custom toys and a bunch of his papertoys. Plastic Culture x Thunderpanda will release LIMITED EDITION Giclee Prints, T-Shirts and other merchandises.

The exhibition will kick off in Plastic Culture, Grand Indonesia on September 3rd, 2010 at 07:30WIB (Jakarta time).

Plastic Culture News: Great Depression Dunny – Dunny 2010

Of course, Frank Kozik will not be missed in this series. It is said that this Dunny is made in the memory of the Great Depression back in the 1930’s. Bring out the apples! Another ?/??? Dunny. It was rumored around blogs that there is variant. The apples that are carried in the cart is gold in color.

Plastic Culture News: La Muerte Negro

Huck Gee has dished out with his latest custom work “La Muerte Negro” and it is the dark side of the previous release of Los Angeles De La Muerte. This custom munny comes with its’ own spear and removable helmets along with the body armor and the fabric to cover its body. There are only 10 custom figures made and each will be sold for $800.

On Naoya 13 there are many whispered tales of people disappearing in the night. Sometimes, they are tales of revolt, of dissidents and rival political parties. Sometimes they are tales of justice in the underground: of pit fighting organizers, of gang lords, or of corrupt police. Sometimes they are just tales indeed… People may never know the answers they seek but when darkness descends, when evil things happen and they leave not a trace, they blame La Muerte Negro.

Officially, La Muerte Negro does not exist. The Taurenos royal family denies their existence. There is no La Muerte Negro. But the people know better. They were told the tales as children, to keep their lives straight. The tales evolving as they grew older, no longer just myth. Everybody knows someone that knew somebody that disappeared. Plastic Culture News: The ROBULL-287 Munny Custom

The Robull-287 is what they call it. It is a roboticbull that is a  research manager that works 24/7 looking for a cure. Jose Reynoso of Gumpy Revolution customized Munny V4 and created this robotic creature. It has an ON switch and it also lights up. Mind you, this is only a teaser image.

Plastic Culture News: Munny World Festival Indonesia

Munny World Festival Indonesia is FINALLY HERE! After postponing the event weeks after weeks, and then months, Plastic Culture is proud to present the biggest Custom Show in Indonesia featuring Mega Munny, Munny V4, Mini Munny and Munny World from Kidrobot. The show will start at Plastic Culture in Grand Indonesia on the 24th of September 2010. The list of the activites is as follows:

If you have want to participate in the competition, it is simple. First, go to any Plastic Culture shop and buy a Mini Munny, Munny World or Munny V4 and fill out an application form. It is that simple. Don’t forget to submit the Munny to us by September 18th. The categories for the Competitions are:

Skin-To-Skin design: no accessories, clay, or any other media added just pure artwork on MUNNY
Accessories: play around with different media and slap it on the MUNNY
Vandalim: cut it open, tear it up, do whatever you want, just as long as we can still see it is MUNNY
KIDS: under 14 years old will not miss out! Come and join the fun!
