Plastic Culture presents its first solo exhibition featuring our very own Resident Artist – Thunderpanda (Eric Wirjanata). Things Aren’t Getting Any Prettier in This Neighborhood is what this exhibition is called. The idea of this exhibition came when he was customizing uglydoll and things does get uglier (the uglydoll), then he looked the his surrounding city, where the country and the government are not improving. In fact, things are getting uglier little by little and no one cant even realize it. Follow us on twitter @Plastic_Culture and @robocadaver (Thunderpanda)
Eric will exhibit 14 (fourteen) HUGE canvas-print along with showcasing his custom toys and a bunch of his papertoys. Plastic Culture x Thunderpanda will release LIMITED EDITION Giclee Prints, T-Shirts and other merchandises.
Thunderpanda will also be showcasing collaborations with fellow artist Pamela Halomoan. Her twisted creatures will blow your mind away. Both Pamela will be there today. Bring out your notepad, blank DIY and get both of these guys to doodle it for you.

Things Aren’t Getting Any Prettier in This Neighborhood Solo Exhibition by Thunderpanda Plastic Culture at LEVEL ONE Floor 1 (one), unit 03 – 04 Jln. M.H. Thamrin Jakarta, 10230This kid has got some luck on his hands. Frank Kozik’s Great Depression Dunny variant with golden apples (not shown in pic) was found at Dunny 2010 Release Party last weekend. Abigael, congrats kid! You did good… you did very good!
Two Bat God in one case! That’s near impossible. Sania Prawira a.k.a. Steve apparently got it and now he is the proud owner of two Jesse Hernandez’s Dunny from Dunny 2010 series.
Damarak Dunny in green, variant color. WOW! I was pretty excited when I got this. This truly marked my day, but I am still looking for my Great Depression Dunny. I know it is out there somewhere…
If you look closer, the CW Dunny is missing one arm. This might be the most rare Dunny or it is just simply a factory defect. Either way, one-armed Dunny is too cute to pass, but how will CW Dunny do its knitting? I guess it has to learn how to utilize its’ feet. Poor Charlie (the guys with BAPE black shirt) …
Win had a big smile on his face when he found Triclops’ Brain Dunny. Show off time!
Picture credit goes to Jeffery for his valiant effort. Cheers, mate!
Congratulations to Darren’s family, Tanta, Jessica, Win, Charlie, Steve, Silvia, Vania, Abigael and Roy for winning the SUPER EXCLUSIVE Sweet Relish Dunny by Sket One.

Broke my phone today that has all the good photo coverage from Dunny 2010 Release Party a few hours ago at The Other Culture (Plastic Culture in fX Lifestyle X’nter). This the only pic that I can recover. Dunny 2010 Release Party was a whole lot of fun. We uncovered so many Dunny’s.
The Great Depression Dunny by Frank Kozik was among the chase figures that everybody is looking for. Two lucky Dunnymania got it, Thomas (last year’s Golden Ticket Winner) and Jeffry. Steve (2009 Plastic Culture Customer of the Year) found two Bat God Dunny by Jesse Hernandez in ONE case. That’s a bit odd considering the ratio is 1/100.
Erick Wirjanata (Thunderpanda) came to play today and did so many free doodles. He showcased some of his custom Munny for his upcoming solo exhibition at Plastic Culture, Grand Indonesia that will start this Friday, September 3rd, 2010. The exhibition is called “Things Aren’t Getting Better in This Neighborhood“. Surya Sunburn (Proxy Figures), creator of Gatot Kaca Figure and Abell Octavian, creator of BarkinGun paid a visit.
Plastic Culture would like to thank you for all who came today. Thanks to our wonderful crew who has worked very hard for this event. Special thanks to Wan Tien for the wine, and Jessica for a wonderful home-made snack and drink. Congratulations to Darren’s family, Tanta, Jessica, Win, Charlie, Steve, Silvia, Vania, Abigael and Roy for winning the SUPER EXCLUSIVE Sweet Relish Dunny by Sket One.
DUNNYMANIA Indonesia… Today is the day you have been waiting for. Enough with the previews and the reviews. This is the time for the real thing! Dunny 2010 will be released at The Other Culture tonight! Remember to come as early as you can.. we all know that there’s a lot of Dunnymania who is eager to get the exclusive Sweet Relish Dunny by Sket One (limited to the first 10 FULL CASE buyer).
Thunderpanda, the creator of Lemi the Space Wanderer will be there today and join the fun. I bet he would love to destroy a couple of Dunny that night. Door Prizes and surprise gifts to be won through out the night. So get out of bed, brush your teeth and head straight down to The Other Culture right now (forgot about shower). Doors will be open at 7:30PM (strict time).
For those who are there early, we can meet and chat over a glass of KOLAK (traditional food) at 6:00PM. See you all soon… very very soon!
MyTummyToys with Plastic Culture x Kuso Vinyl presents Jouwe Custom Show at Toy Art Gallery. With another Jouwe Custom Show going around in German, we will also have another Custom Show at T.A.G. A little background what and who is Jouwe…
[Background Story] Jouwe is a one-horned Rhino (Indonesian’s endangered species) who lives in the island of Ujung Kulon. He lives with his parents Plum and Bismarck. In his village, Jouwe feels that he needs to explore the world. He feels that his village is too small for him. Still young, and ready to take on anything, Jouwe ran away from home. He goes from major city to the next until he has experience everything!
Jouwe is created by Marine Ramdhani and the vinyl figure is produced by Plastic Culture and Kuso Vinyl. Marine created this character because he also has the same desire as Jouwe. Both of them wants to explore the world and meet all kinds of people.
